  • Ever wonder why diets fail? Do you feel trapped in the cycle of dieting?

Diets help remove a few pounds temporarily, but they don't address WHY we overeat.

Here's what science says:
✅ Most people lose weight on diets, regardless of the diet type.
❌ Yet, a staggering 95-99% fail to sustain the weight loss long-term.

To maintain weight in the long haul, two strategies are key:
1️⃣ Your new food and eating habits need to be sustainable.
2️⃣ Tackle the root causes of overeating. Menopause amplifies the challenge. Hormonal shifts create cravings and pull us towards seeking comfort in food. Let’s not forget that natural ageing has also a role to play (men gain weight too!).

My weight loss programme for women during the menopause is designed differently. I offer guidelines on effective eating (that work with what you already do and like). More importantly, we tackle the root causes of why you overeat.

Even I, with my medical and scientific background, struggled and needed guidance. I've navigated those challenges and am eager to share what really works long-term. You're not alone, and it's perfectly alright to seek help.

  • When you haven’t been as consistent as you might have wished, it's tempting to feel as though you need to restart again.

Consider this: isn't it more accurate, and helpful, to think that you just need to ‘get back on track?

The notion of restarting from scratch negates any previous progress, something that is both demotivating and untrue.

Telling yourself you can pick up where you left off recognises that you're merely resuming and acknowledges your prior dedication and achievements.

Evidence? You were on a trajectory before. By getting back on track, you’re not reinventing the wheel. You’re revisiting what worked, identifying the obstacles you encountered, and adjusting based on learnings.

For example, if you went through a period of stress that led you to use food to comfort yourself, develop a plan for what you’d like to do next time it happens.

Simply expecting that it will happen again will have you be better prepared. If you go further and decide ahead of time how you would like to react next time, the chances of that happening have just significantly increased.

How did the summer go? If you are thinking that you need to restart all over I propose you to embrace a strategic return instead.

  • As our understanding of biology and health mechanisms expands, the basic rules for a healthier life haven't changed.

It boils down to some simple truths: lose weight, drink less, and stay active.

This is a good thing. We know what we need to do to not just live longer, but to live better.

So, if we all know this, why aren't more of us leading healthier lives?

The challenge lies in changing well-established behaviours, ones deeply rooted and consistently rewarded in our brain's circuitry.

To initiate lasting change, we must rewire these circuits, and that's where the role of the brain is crucial.

Accessing this internal "medication" isn't as straightforward as swallowing a pill. But, the best part? Absolutely no side effects.

Oddly enough, most of us aren't taught how to work with our brain, how to establish lasting changes.

Unlocking the brain's potential requires understanding a process—a blueprint for habit transformation.

The potential is incredible, learn to master one behaviour, and you'll have the principles to tackle others.

I recommend starting with weight management—its results will exponentiate quality of life and not just in the body.

Want to harness your brain's power for better health? Let me help you navigate your personal challenges, we all have our own, and guide you toward a healthier future.
